This study presents a case study of the application of sandplay therapy for a male student of second-grade middle school (15 years old) who adheres excessively to his peers and exhibits delinquent behavior. The course of sandplay therapy was performed once per week, for a total of 19 sessions for a period of approximately six months. The therapy sessions consist of three phases. In the initial phase of 1~6 sessions, the client represents a regression to his unconscious state. During the middle phase of 7~13 sessions, the client presents evidence of undergoing inner struggles and adventures. In the final phase of 14~19 sessions, the client shows a return to his daily life; which suggests that he has strengthened his ego. In summary, the study proposes a process of initiation of an adolescent who exhibits delinquent behaviors via sandplay therapy. Throughout the process, the client has been presented with opportunities for being more conscious of his unconscious, differentiating his own masculinity, and establishing his ego.
